Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key are Gulf of Mexico Barrier islands located on the central west coast of Florida. Anna Maria Island is a quaint little island which is one of a few "Old Florida" style areas left. Speed limits are 35mph of less and bikes and trolly's are more the transportation of the day. Located just 40 miles south of Tampa, you will find some of the best beaches in the world. Loaded with old cottages, Anna Maria is known for it's great sunsets and wonderful fresh seafood. The fishing in the area is incredible and features many great charter boats and fishing piers. Flip flops and T shirts are the dress of the day while you make your way through wonderful beaches, colorful shops and waterfront restaurants.
